Clarity

From overwhelm to Calm, rethinking email UX.

Every email app I've used still treats inboxes like a spreadsheet. Everything feels urgent, everything looks the same, and I constantly end up ghosting people I didn't mean to. I wanted to build peace.

So I asked: what if your inbox felt like Focus Mode by default?

The Big Idea

Clarity is an AI email platform that helps make sense of your inbox, not just organize it. It gives you easy-to-read summaries, suggests smart replies, and lets you manage everything. Basically, it turns email overload into something you can actually handle.

How it actually works

I decided to take Clarity in a new direction. Now, instead of starting with your inbox, you're greeted by Clarity's soul: FOCUS MODE. This feature uses AI to show you only what actually needs your attention right now, neatly summarized and grouped by intent. No more sifting through endless email, just the important stuff front and center.

I didn't stop there. I wanted you to be able to communicate directly with your email, so you can understand and get clarity on each message without bouncing between different apps

Writing replies sucks when you're tired. Clarity gives you a draft, you choose the tone, and hit send. Or ignore it.

Designing the new look for the inbox was one of my biggest challenges. Not everything can live in Focus Mode. Sometimes you still need that traditional list view for other emails. But I didn't want to build another Gmail clone.

Trust me, I explored so many options Kanban-style grouping like a Trello board, using cards instead of rows, and a bunch of other ideas. But none of them really felt right; something was always missing. In the end, I figured maybe a “Gmail 2.0” isn't such a bad thing after all, as long as it actually feels better to use

CLarity

I added proper categorization, so you won't find a promotional email sitting where an important job offer should be.

You can also see a summarized version of each email so you know what to expect before diving in. And not only that you can reply to the email right there, too.

What's a big idea without a smooth onboarding process? I made sure Clarity welcomes users from the very first interaction, making it easy and inviting to get started with the app

I also made it possible for you to set the tone for how Clarity replies and interacts with you, so it really feels like you're the one talking.

What this solves

We don't need a better email app. We need a better relationship with email. Clarity isn't trying to make you check your inbox more efficiently. It's trying to make you feel better every time you do.

Next Experiment

I'm still working on cracking the code and finding a way to move the inbox beyond just being a “Gmail 2.0.” The goal is to create something truly different and better.

I'm also thinking about adding a meeting feature and calendar, so Clarity can become an all-in-one app. Once that's in place, maybe I'll finally be ready to develop and launch the new email experience for this era.
